Abstract

The issues of quantitative assessment of the structural differentiation of the population by income are discussed. The paper uses an approach in which the entire population of the region, ranked by income, is divided into several groups. As a result, quantitative assessment of structural inequality uses a three-dimensional vector, whose components are the values of the Gini index for total population and for the two individual groups. This approach allows us to clarify the nature of the differences between regions in terms of income inequality.
