THE CONCEPT OF MOBILITY IN SOCIO-ECONOMIC SYSTEMS: P.G. KUZNETSOV AND JOHN URRY

Abstract

The work contains an analysis of two “polar” concepts of mobility in socio-economic systems — by the Russian scientist-encyclopedist P.G. Kuznetsov and the British sociologist J. Urry — highlighting their characteristic features, strengths and weaknesses. It also reveals the methodology used by P.G. Kuznetsov, since his approach to presenting any socio-economic system as a transport system is not widely represented in the scientific publications.

KEYWORDS: mobility, mobility system, Brown-Bartini-Kuznetsov LT-system, transport systems, digital panopticon.
