Abstract

This article analyzes the problem of the lack of a unified concept of environmental education in the Russian Federation, which hinders the effective fight against the global environmental crisis at various levels. The article examines the main aspects of environmental education abroad and in Russia, their role in shaping environmental awareness and responsibility of citizens, as well as the need to integrate environmental knowledge into educational programs. Recommendations on adapting foreign experience to Russian conditions are formulated. The importance of developing a holistic strategy for environmental education is emphasized, which can unite the efforts of government agencies, educational institutions and public organizations to achieve sustainable development, overcome environmental challenges and form a responsible attitude towards the environment among future generations.
