Abstract
This article examines the characteristics of the South Korean stock market as the most innovative country among the leading economies. It defines the fundamentals of the Korean Exchange, which was formed by merging three previously independent markets: the Korea Stock Exchange, the KOSDAQ system, and the Korea Futures Exchange (KOFEX). It reveals the main stock indices of South Korea and the connection between the South Korean stock market and technology giants. The authors have clarified the factors influencing the volatility of the South Korean stock market.
