Abstract
The article analyzes the transformation of Russian cosmism ideas into a constructive scientific methodology in the works of Pobisk Georgievich Kuznetsov and his student Boris Evgenievich Bolshakov. The transition from philosophical-worldview intuitions of N.F. Fedorov, K.E. Tsiolkovsky and V.I. Vernadsky to an engineering-design paradigm of sustainable development based on physical quantities and measurable parameters of the evolution of the “nature–society–human” system is studied. It is shown that P.G. Kuznetsov’s school developed a universal measure of development in terms of power and free energy, which made it possible to overcome the limitations of monetary economic theory and create the foundations of physical economics as an alternative model of socio-economic analysis. Key concepts are considered – “engineering of history”, projective approach to biosphere evolution, LT system as methodological basis for cosmoplanetary thinking. The relevance of the study is due to the need to search for scientifically based strategies for sustainable development in the context of aggravation of global environmental and socio-economic challenges.
