Abstract
The article presents an analysis of the problems of waste management at the household level in Russia. The legal basis of waste management, including municipal solid waste, has been studied. The place of household organic waste as an independent disposal facility is indicated in the federal waste classification catalog. The classification of waste according to the degree of danger to the environment is given. An assessment of the current state of the household organic waste management system in Russia and an analysis of the effectiveness of the «garbage reform» has been carried out. The analysis of technologies for the treatment and disposal of household organic waste has been carried out. Conclusions are drawn about the need to develop digital environmental tools in the system of household organic waste management. Digital environmental tools can become an important means of changing everyday consumer habits in households and increasing the level of environmental culture.
